Message: Does anybody know what is the deal with the blue spliced in wire on the alternater to battery charging lead? Is it some kind of fusable link? I was going to rewire it with one step up larger guage lead.

Message: I cut the black heat shrink off at the splice and it appears just to be a crimped connection. For stereo reasons I am replacing the wire with 2 guage and a 150 amp in-line fuse just to be safe. Thanks for the amp output #'s.

Message: ATTN!! Just checked on Alldata at work. On the wiring diagram for the 3.9/5.9 charging system, it does in fact show that blue spliced in wire as an fusable link. I would not & am not going to mess with it. Its there for a reason. Just to let everybody aware of it.
