If you are running the revs up while driving and not while parked you shouldn't hurt anything.
If something breaks, then our engines are no good to start with.

I never rev it up when in park. I dont even like to let it idle for long. The only time it really idles is when i first start it. I start it up and let it rev down, and then at drive thru's. But, on the road, Its always going high until i hit the cruising speed.

i think that's what messed mine up. of course it has about 155,000 miles on it. it has suffered a loss of power that i've been trying to fix. i might have to break down and take it to a mechanic, but i can just hear him saying that nothing is wrong. i know something is different. i have driven it the same way for two years, and this is the first time it has acted differently.

Hey Errrg,

Your a total moron! I hope you crash & die because that's what you deserve for endangering the lives of others. Same goes for the rest of you little punks on this forum who think your badass. Real men drive fast at the track. Wannabe's rev it up at stoplights. Get a life!

Kiss my ass "Your Stupid" I dont endanger people lives. I dont know where your from, but mostly everyone around here runs at 80-90 on the highways. I dont rev the hell out of it at stoplights either. You must be one of those little panzy bitches that drives a fcking pinto and wants to be a fcking Dak owner. Fcking Jerk off.

Here is something to think about! Your piston rings can only travel so many miles up and down in the cylinder bore until they wear out. The more RPM's you turn per the quicker you are accumulateing wear on the rings. A good example of this is raceing. An egine that might last 150,000 to 300,000 miles is lucky to last 24 hours at Lemans. A winston cup car might get 3 races out of the engine and NHRA funy car and top fuel rebuild after ech run. There is a reason that running at high speeds and rpms in the desert like Baja 1000 is a torture test on the part. Heat, Pressure, RPM's and Hours = WEAR
