I got a local shop to do it. I got a hook up from a friend who know the owner ($50). I only needed to get the two side windows tinted because my rear glass was already blacked out. I got 5% on the side windows. Looks like the window were painted black.

good for you! Now all you gotta do is roll both of them down every time you see a cop to avoid a ticket. Or what my sister actually did was just ask her eye doctor, and she now has a permit to drive with them tinted 5%.

You should have went with at least 20% with 20% you can still see in somewhat Cops dont hassle that much with 20. legal in Wash State is 35%. 5% is way to dark for my taste.

It's a good thing i have power windows I can roll them down quick if I need to. I usually have them down anyway.

well lucky you guys, i spent $100 on mine about 2 months ago for ones that were 13% and got pulled over about 3 times and they made me take them off, cops suck, here in pennsylvania the legal amount of light that has to pass through is 75%!!!

Had my driver and passenger done cause the factory wouldn't tint them. I got the TX legal, think it 20%, looks good and the shade/color matched the factory on my Quad Cab.
Hell, here around Houston, I never, ever heard of anyone getting pulled over for the front doors window tint!

I like dark tint, but only one problem I've found with it is:
Dark tint = What are you trying hide?
Nice deal though, $50 -- the dealers here do terrible jobs and screw everyone they can. Twice as much if you were to go anywhere else in the country.

I live around Allentown PA and I just had my wintows tinted by a local shop. I told them to match the factory tint that was on the side and rear windows. They put 22% on the two front windows. The price wasnt bad they only charged me $60 for both windows.

I have heard that in some counties in VA that if a cop pulls you over and you have illegal tint that they will take a key and cut a big X in the tint so you have to get it replaced !!!!!!!!!!
I think if a cop did that to me I would find a lawyer.

Yeah, the cops in VA are NOT the brightest bulbs in the bunch. True story....
When I had just purchased my 2000 S10 (PLEASE don't flame me...I got rid of it! *L*) I was driving it home. I was in the process of driving to a friend's house when a cop pulled me over. I was asking myself "I was in the lane, I was going the speed limit...what'd I do"
The guy told me that he pulled me over because I didn't have tags on my car. Now, I bought the truck in Georgia, and anyone from GA knows you don't get a temporary tag like we do in GA. You get a plastic plate that says 'Tags applied for' and that's it, and furthermore, you get ONE plate in GA, not two. I said "That's because I just got it in Georgia." He said "Well, you're in Virginia and you have to go by Virginia rules." I said "Well, it's REGISTERED in Georgia, and on top of that I'm temporarily stationed in Virginia, NOT a permanent resident, and therefore the vehicle and the plates fall under the jurisdiction of the Georgia laws. They do not ISSUE temporary tags there." He said "Yes they do."
At this point I was getting a bit peeved. I said "Sir, with all respect, no they do not. I have lived there for 7 years, and you have not, and they do NOT issue temporary tags." I told him what they issued, and I said that if he did not believe me, he could check. He did check, and apologized to me, but 'warned' me that I shouldn't drive around because I had no plates, and if he 'caught me again' he'd have my truck towed. *LOL* Right.
So I called a friend at the DMV, and asked him if they could do that. He laughed his @$$ off and said not ONLY can they not do that, but that I could sue them for unlawful impoundment of personal property (or something similar) if they did.
SO 2 days later another rookie cop pulls me over for the same thing. He asked me why I had no plates, and I told the whole story all over again. He then said "Well, you realize I could have this vehicle towed." I said "No, sir, you can not." He got indignant and said "And exacly why is that?" I said "Because the vehicle is registered in Georgia and NOT Virginia, and therefore is covered under Georgia vehicle laws. Furthermore, according to the Virginia DMV, if you DO, I can sue you in court for it."
He checked, and 3 minutes later he apologized to me and drove off in a hurry. :)
