Subject: 5.7 hemi IP: Logged
Message: I didn't know for sure, but it seems true, the 5.7 will have 2 plugs per cylinder.
the Ram 2500 & 3500 in Sept 2002.
It will be in the Ram 1500 in Jan 2003.

Message: Yupp, but my question is, I wonder if they went through that cylinder shut off thing they were working on. Where some of the cylinders actually shut off to save on fuel consumption.

Message: Hope not, never seemed to work when it was tried in the caddys.
Caddy does however make a v-8, 32 valve engine!
That must be OHC or DOHC, right?

Message: Chrysler canned the idea of cylinder shut down. It works like a conventional v8 only with 2 spark plugs per cylinder.
