Message: does anybody have a picture of where you install a performance chip on a truck and how long does the installation take?

Message: The only piggyback 'Chip' for the Dakotas is the Jet Chip, which many people do not recommend for use. It only adds 4 degrees of timing, and your factory PCM is a learning system so it will eventually nullify this gain in the long run.
All of the other PCM enhancements are programmed into the EEPROM of the PCM itself - either you replace the entire PCM computer with one that has already been upgraded, or you rip out your PCM and send it off to a company for reprogramming.
The PCM is the silver box on the passenger-side wheel well that is about 8"x6"x2" in size, with 3 big wire harnesses sticking out of it.
