I an wondering if a synthetic tranny fluid would make any noticable difference in any way if I put it in my NP231 transfer case? Are there constantly moving parts in there like in my automatic tranny?

the NP231 uses ATF, I have synthetic in mine, Royal Purple.

BTW, it takes a 30mm socket to get the drain and fill plug off, might want to get one before you start.
