Subject: cleaning cowl area dak II IP: Logged
Message: one of my biggest pet peaves on my 94 dak gen II is getting junk in my cowl area and then when i use either the heater or fresh air stuff comes blowing out of vents which make a mess in the cab. my biggest problems has been pine needles. i have had to remove the cowl cover at least three times to clean it out. yesterday i took a piece of 1/2" plastic tubing about 3' long and stuck about 8" of the tubing into wand on my shop vac then proceeded to vacuum out the cowl area with the tube. it worked great and also getting the cowl area clean gets rid of smell from debris that accumulates in there. hope this tip helps others.

Message: well i guess im the only one that has had problems with junk getting into the holding area below my wiper blades and getting into my air vents with a gen II, im happy for the rest of u ppl but a bit envious so guess i better move to a place that doesn't have junk dropping from trees or such, wherever that may be.

Message: To clean out the cowl area remove the wiper blades then open the hood; there are about 6 screws to remove gently lift up on the cowl and remove this will give you access to the outer vents ,remove the debris and your done
