Subject: Synthetic Fluid IP: Logged
Message: I am getting ready to change my differential fluid. I was leaning towards the Amsoil Synthetic 75w140. I know you can buy this on their web page, but I was wondering if I can by this at any of the auto chain stores (Pep Boys, AutoZone...). I have the 3.55 anti spin differential , will I need to add the lsd additive? How many quarts will i need for both differentials? Thanks for all your help.

Message: The 2001 service manual states the 8.25" differential uses 80W-90 and the 9.25" uses 75W-90 lubricant.
Someone stated their 2002 owners manual stated they could use a xxW-140 for heavy duty towing. My 2001 owners manual doesn't state any such thing. But it does state you may use synthetic.
