Message: If you cant feel the scratch with your fingernail it will most likely buff out. If you do not own or do not know how to use a rotary buffer I would take it to a professional detailer. It is nearly impossible to buff out a scratch by hand
hope this helps

Message: Welcome to the club...LOL...I have a same thing. A scratch on the passenger side that runs from the front fender to the rear fender. If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail. It's a deep scratch and the only cure is paint. Don't waste your time and money on the GS27 scratch remover or Blue Coral scratch remover. It helped cover some of the scratch, but as soon as you wash your truck you need to reply the scratch remover again. The shop want $700.00 to fix my scratch (F-that) so I went and bought some Turtle Wax polishing compound and buffed it out. (it helped little) then tried some touch up paint $3.00 dollars. Use a toothpick instead of the brush to apply the paint to the scratch. After couple days of drying I used the polishing compound again. It looks a lot better than not doing anything at all...But again I only spent around $20 dollars to fix the scratch. The door ding piss me off, more than the scratch :~)

Message: Dirtdemon... What you need is to find someone who does "Paintless Dent Repair". They drill a hole in the inside of the door jamb (they plug the hole and you will never notice) and use a special rod to get behind the dent and push it out from the backside. There are a bunch of them here in phoenix, not sure where you live but you might try the phonebook
Hope this helps...
