Message: I've just bought a new '02 Sport V6, automatic regular cab with the Tire/Handling Group, cruise and power. It's meant to be a step up from my '98 Mazda B2500. I've had a couple of Dodge vehicles before, and had pretty good luck with them, so I'm hoping that it's the same story with the Dakota. But, from reading a lot of these posts, I'm a bit skittish. I see lots of problems with ball joints and various other parts/pieces. Are Dakotas really that crappy, or are most of them relatively reliable? They can't be as bad as an S-10, I hope.

Message: i have a 94 dak II v6 i bought new. prior to that i had a 91 dak 4 banger which i was not happy with. my 94 rides like a car, gets decent gas mileage around 19 mpg city driving and tows very well. my only problem is dealers. if u find a good one that takes good care of u , then ur golden. i love my dak and wouldnt trade for any other truck but im not happy with dealers so far that take care of mine. good luck with ur new dak and welcome to dodgedakotas.com. there are alot of ppl willing to help here and dont be afraid to ask questions if u have any.

Message: hey larry , dakotas rule, i work on trucks every day and i can tell u i don't see many daks mostly ford f-series and chevy s-10s and worse i 've got to drive a dand s-10 daily at the shop, feels good to drive dak home at night, ball joints do fail cause of lack of grease but f150s are way worse, today i'm doing u joints on a 93 4X4 dak w/266852. miles on her dude these are the original un greasable joints still has 97% orininal parts on this truck and still drives and ride very very good, and burn less than pint of oil between changes
good luck hope ya love that dak
