Subject: ROYAL PURPLE VS. AMSOIL AMZOIL AMS OIL
IP: Logged

Message:
Dufas_not, I posed that very same question.. And the answer I got was that Royal Purple doesn't abrasively polish parts.. It just makes the microscopic peaks and edges on machined parts brittlely hard, so that they break off.. Thats what makes them so smooth..

If you look at a freshly machine surface, it might look and fell smooth as glass.. But when you look at it under a microscope, it looks like a luner landscape.. RP just clips those crater tops off.. Read about it here..

http://www.longrider.com/royal.htm

I'm not saying one is better than the other.. At this level of refinement, you couldn't go wrong with either one.. I'm just relaying my experiences..

Royal Purple is different.. Mobile 1, Amsoil, Red Line, all seem to perform about the same to me.. But I've documented power increases with Royal Purple.. I assume thru reduced friction.. And like I mentioned, machine parts look like new when run with the stuff.. Even the transfer case in my Dakota, that I thought was a tad bit noisy.. When I put Royal Purple in it.. After about a month or so..It dawn on me that it wasn't noisy anymore.. It didn't quiet it down the moment I put the stuff in there.. The hum just kind of gradually went away..

The oil problem I have with RP is that it doesn't come in a 20w-50 racing oil.. I think a 10w-40 is the heaviest you can get..

A local NAPA here in South Georgia sells the 10w-30 (ATM) all
day long at $78.00 (case of twelve) plus tax.

I save about $14-20.00 per case depending on the product by
being a preferred customer.

I do not know where you are getting your figures from Dan.

Regarding Mr. K
IP: Logged

Message:
It's a crazy guy whos wife divorced him for doing the same thing to everyone. He is obsessed with breaking people's skulls with a golf club, though he never has actually hit anyone, he likes saying he did. He has been kicked out of every lagit forum he trolls into, and his posts have no value, and only flame people he is jealous of. He tried using 2 screen names on a trans Am board in 2005 and the moderator got angry at him. He posts from different computers to try to make it look like it is more than one person. In 2007 he got banned from an atv board and then tried to say someone stole his account because he couldn't get in, when the real reason was because he kept telling lies about everyone. He has a real low self esteem and tried to have a normal life with a wife and kids and he wasn't able to do it, she divorced him after only a short number of years. He was 40 and still living off his parents because he can't make it on his own and refuses to get help for his problems and admit to all the lies he has told people about his neighbors to try to make himself look good, but then all the neighbors figured out that what he and his parents said was false.
Steve shouldn't take it personally, the guy that is doing the flaming needs help and keeps getting beat up for doing that, then cries that the person he provoked harassed him.
See a pattern?
His trademark is also using other peoples names and commiting identity theft.

Amsoil must be a pretty good product for him to go after Steve the same way he goes after people he likes, because he only goes after people he admires and wishes he could have their lives because his sucks.

Nonsense. Here's a better explanation. The Amsoil flaming has been going on for years here; long before the guy you refer to (Bill K) was ever heard of on this site. It's not all one person, there are more involved. As far as using other peoples names goes, Bill K doesn't have the market cornered on that. STS has been doing that here for a long time; I've even caught him posting as Bill K. One person posted that this story about Bill K was actually an internet myth. I wouldn't be a bit surprised; but whether he is real or not, there are others involved. Some of them, such as Stan, have an obvious agenda to steer people away from this site; and towards another site with a similar acronym. So let's not lay all this on a possibly ficticous character - we're not going to fall for that.
As P.T. Barnum once said, "you can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time - but you can't fool all of the people all of the time".
Some of us see right through your lies, and will be happy to point them out.

Bill is real, do a ussearch on it. he also has a police record for assaults and injury to minors and committed social security fraud with other people's id for his treatments. he is now plotting to kill his ex-wife.
he never hit anyone with a golf club but Bill has beat his wife which maks me want to cry.
It did sound like his work.

I think Amsoil is a good product and don't understand why the animosity against it without reason.

The guy that owns www.dakota-durango.com used to
own this site joint with the current site owner
but they got into a "difference of opinion" and
the guy who owns www.dakota-durango.com left to
set up a new site called www.dakota-durango.com

Maybe it was because this site owner did not want
moderators and wanted to let people post whatever
garbage that they wanted to (vulgar pic's and words).

Whatever!

I like both sites. This one for a quick answer
and www.dakota-durango.com when I get tired of
having to fish through all the B.S. and childish

Ok we can all agree that Royal Purple is, in all reality, a high
quality synthetic oil that is bringing healthy competition to the
market place.
However, I have been a faithful Amsoil user for 15 years, My
father was a rep., my mother was a rep., back in the early 80's.
For 3 years I had a brand new 1998 Dakota 3.9L, 5 speed. I
used Amsoil 5W-30, (20,000kms drain intervals) in the motor
for 160,000kms and never had a problem, and received over
30MPG on the hiway. I sold that and bought a 1993 Dodge
Shadow with a 2.2L L4, 5 speed, the car had 130,000kms when
purchased. I used Amsoil exceptional Heavy duty diesel and
Marine 15W-40 in this motor. -45C, unplugged, no problems
starting and no ticking OR valve train noise of any kind. I
received over 45mpg hiway with this combination. 20,000kms
drain intervals. Now I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0L 5
speed. I heard of Royal Purple and decided to try it. It cost me
an extra $2.00 per quart. I used Amsoil in the motor right off
the start so I knew how excellently the car responded to it.
And at 10,000kms I switched in Royal Purple 5W-30, (Dec.
2006) which according to Royal Purples hotline was the
equivalent to Amsoils 5w-30.

I can safely say that I was NOT impressed. I do all hiway
mileage, and with the Royal purple oil in my motor my mileage
decreased, (850kms/tank w/AMS, and 800kms/tank with RP)
my power most certainly decreased (I could hold that car at
120kph up a hill, the next day with Royal Pruple I lost 10 kph
up the same hill.), and the car would not start at -40C. I had
to use my 1990 GMC pickup 4.3L, which had not been started
in 5 months, but had AMS 5W-30. -40C My Old truck fired up
no problems.

At the same time my friend has a 1996 Dodge Caravan with a
2.4L 3 speed auto, which he could not plug in. We switched
the oil out to AMS 5W-30 and noticed he was going 80kms
further each tank and the van was starting without problems
each morning.

AMSOIL, THE BEST NEVER RESTS!!!

The facts are as follows:

1. Amsoil products, other than the XL-7500 line, cannot
be API certified because the level of ZDDP exceeds
the API limits which results in too much phosphorus.
This is not in dispute, Amsoil stated this. See:

"groups.google.com/groups?q=zdp+amsoil&hl=en&safe=off&rnum=1&ic=1&selm=3B02A3A8.185B25C7%40pinn.net"

2. The API limit on the amount of ZDDP was put in place
because the phosphorus in the ZDDP shortens the life
of the catalytic converter; the more ZDDP the shorter
the life of the catalytic converter.

old news from 2002.

Amsoil, RP and Redline reduced the amount
of ZDDP after studies showed that excess
ZDDP could damage catalitic converters.

RP switched to MOLY which is worse for the engine.
Amsoil and redline lowered the amount of ZDDP.

The REAL flaw was the material in the cats
and not necessarily the levels of ZDDP.
