Everyone:

For the last few weeks I have been experiencing a problem that causes lurching when I first leave the house in the morning or work in the evening. When I leave, about 2 blocks down the road, the truck seems to lose all response to the accelerator. I have to floor it to get it to respond. And only when I completely floor it and force it to downshift, will it respond. If I do not floor it, then there is a kind of popping sound (almost like backfiring but quieter) that occurs. Once I floor it and get "past" the dead part, it is fine. Like I said, it is only a short time after start-up. Could this be the fuel pump, fuel filter, etc.? If any of you have had something with similar symptoms can you please let me know what it was. There are no warning lights of any sort that turn on. I am baffled and would like to remedy it. I have to let the truck run for 10 minutes in the morning in order to cure it. I would prefer to only let it run a few minutes and not waste any gas since I am a long distance commuter. Thanks in advance!

Coz
