Message: Sadly this first bike was stolen.
KHS Aluminum frame with full Ringle group on Sun C17 tie-died anodized rims and a Betty Ross edition Sram 9spd(US Flag Motif). Stolen! grrrr. That bike took 4 years to build while working in high school and 1 night to get stolen. Still pisses me off. Especially because almost everything was American made and the Ringle equipment was back before they were bought out by Sun and their place was in Ewing, NJ right around the corner. The replacement ride is a '00 Klein Attitude Race, xt/xtr. Can't ride much anymore because of bad knees though. Thats where the truck comes in. '00 4.7 4x4 50,000 mi. Sorry for the rant.

Message: For those of you with the Quad Cab, what method do you use for transporting the bike(s)? I'm about to get a spray in liner and considering getting the fork mounts thingies (can't remember the technical term) attached at the same time. Another guy (that rides more than me) said he prefers to just use tie downs like you would a Motorcycle. What's everyones opinion on the best mounting / carrier / tie down set up???

Message: For me, I made my self a platform made of 2x4's almost like those crates that are used with forklifts. It sits against the cab and against the front of the wheelwells and the sides touch the sides of the bed. I bought some fork mounts and am using those. Right now I have it set up to hold two bikes but if you measure it out and set maybe two fork mounts forward on the platform and a middle forkmount more towards the rear of the platform, you may be able to fit three bikes. To me, it looks pretty sweet, was cheap and the bikes dont move an inch.

Message: I have the QC and drive to the mecca of mountain biking all the time, Moab Utah! The best option is to go with a 2x4 and bolt down the skewer front fork attachments. My bike will bearly fit in the bed lenght wise, especially with my new Leer XQ cap. This method is as solid as anything and save you a lot of money. It's a quick in and out and very stable.
My ride is the 2000 stumpjumper fs pro with new marzochi marathon 100mm fork and new emp rear suspension linkage with adjustable lockout Fox float RC. All xtr componetry with sweet 26x2.3 continental tires that will allow you to climb the most technical uphill, yet bomb the most brutal downhill. For those of you who know Moab, Porcupine Rim and Poison Spider's Portal trail will leave you sh!tless for days. You can't beat the sweet setup of a specialized mountain bike and dodge dakota QC!!

Message: Klein Attitude - Judy Race Fork, some XTR components and some stock. Saving up for a Intense Tracer or Uzzi in the fall.
Racing at the 24 Hours of Adrenaline in June at Holiday Farms in MA.
As for the rack I have 2x4 sitting in the slots toward the rear of the bed. If you angle the fork mounts you can fit 3-4 bikes and you don't have to worry about leaving room in between the handle bars.

Message: Santa Cruz Chameleon - Duke XC, full LX (it's cheap and durable) Nothing too trick, other than the frame.
The truck is a '98 regular cab with a 3.9/auto and nothing else. Vinyl interior, steel wheels, etc. I love the simplicity, but the next one will have buckets and air...and maybe a v8, and extra cab, and...
