Message: do you have an aftermarket ignition (i.e. msd 6a)?
if so that would be causing the code. They sell a tach adapter that would clear the code. sorry i dont know the part number to the adapter.

Message: MSD #8910. It will fix the problem in most cases but the code doesn't hurt performance at all.

Message: I just got this code for the second time in about a year since I installed my MSD 6A.
Even though it doesn't hurt performance (per Bernd's post) , I guess I will get the MSD part and install so it won't happen again in six months.
Has anyone installed this? How easy/hard is it? About how much does PN# 8910 cost?
Thanks
Bill

Message: I just purchased and installed my tach adapter for a MSD Digital 6. I purchased it from Summit Racing. I paid a total of $32.90 including shipping. The part # is MSD- 8910 and you can call them at 1-800-230-3030. The install is extremely easy. You just have to splice into the white and red wires coming from the stock coil, and find a place to mount it.
