My 94 3.9 has started stalling. Can duplicate very easily. Does when warm. The truck drives fine, stops fine. Only when you are at a stop and step on the gas and have to release very quickly, like when pulling into a garage or when the person in front of you starts and stops or slows when starting at a green light. I've noticed that when at high way speeds if all of a sudden I lift the gas quickly, the tach goes almost to zero but the wheel rotation keeps the motor turning. It also stalls when in neutral and I hit and release the gas quickly. I changed plugs and wires and no fix. Thats all I've done. No CEL, or other warning lights. Truck has 132K with bottom rebuilt at 115. Thanks for any advice before taking it to a shop. Glen

I dont know nothing about this year. but if you have a Throttle body then it could be the TPS (throttle position sensor) or if it is carburetor then i would suggest a rebuild on the Carburetor.

It may only be a dirty throttle body. Clean it if that doesn't work replace the IAC. Personaly I would just replace it anyways.

That situation sounds EXACTLY what was happening to me on my 99...I replaced the plugs, and wires but that didn't help. I did some searching on this board and found many people sayin to clean the throttle body. I took off the throttle body sprayed some cleaner on and a puddle of buildup came right off. Threw the throttle body back on, and it has been running better than ever. Might as well give it a try...its free and it can't hurt.

Ok, will try the cleaning. I did replace the IAC when I first aquired the truck back in sept, with not much change in idle quality. The truck seemed to sputter then, but when the weather cooled off it seemed to go away. Now that its warm its back... Glen

The wierd thing about this is it is 100% related to the weather. We are having a really wierd May here in Nashville, and the temps are really cool for this time of year. Since the posting, the temp has been no warmer than 60 and the truck is running fine. Last week when it was doing it the temps were closer to 75.
