Message: Transmission is now shifting hard when cold. And,
worst of all it is now whining, especially in 2nd
and 3rd gears.....Im going back to the shop where
they did it. The shop manual says that no other
fluid is recommended or acceptable. I hope i didnt
make a wrong choice here..........

Message: I have the same transmission in a Chevrolet W/T
1500 with over 197,000 miles on it.
I have used the AMSOIL 5w-30 (HDD 5w-30) in it
since I have owned it and it still feels like a
new one.
DO NOT USE GEAR LUBE IF DODGE CALLS FOR A 5W-30 or
10W-30 SYNTHETIC AND I BET THEY DO !!
The NV3500 is an awesome transmission and most of
the minute wear metal that this transmission will
generate will be in the first couple of hundred
miles or so unless you make a habit of grinding
the gears.

Message: The service manual states that you should only use the Mopar manual transmission fluid.
Could ask New Venture Gear what other lubricants are suitable besides the OEM.

Message: The fluid visc. was a 75-140 i beleive.
Just before i could get the tranny in for service,
it seized. JK.
I have the origional mopar stuff back in and it
its running how i first enjoyed it, although it is
slow shifting. what can we do to speed things
up? or are we just doomed to live with TRUCK
transmissions?
Mr. Lube has offered a full refund. Back to
square one...

Message: It shouldn't matter what truck the nv3500 is in I wouldn't think
but the truck maker might have it's own brand but you need
synchromesh for syncrods in this tranny
