Message: I want to install an ASP crank pulley, is it hard to install on my 2002? does anyone have instructions to it? thanks!
p.s. i know NOTHING about cars, so I was wondering if I would be able to do it myself? and also, are there any other parts i need besides the pulleey itself?
thanks!

Message: I had one installed on my 2001 5.9 by the Dealer (they put on my headers at the same time).
I don't think its real hard, but I beleive you have to have a special pulley to get the old one off. You also have to get a special size replacement serpentine belt.
Contact ASP for specific instructions.

Message: I ordered an ASP underdrive crank and alternator pully set from ASP direct (90$) I will have to admit they are a real pain in the ASS to install but the HP gains are worth it, by the way they come with instructions on how to install and what belt you will need, I needed a DAYCO 950K6 for both pullys, just the crank pully requires a DAYCO 945K6 I believe, anyway, which ever way you go your alternator will read low charge at idle but, if you have a heavy foot like I do it doesn't matter :-)

Jason,
I've never been under the hood of a '02 before, but I'll mention what I did on mine.
As rt99 mentioned, you'll need a 94.5" serpentine belt if you're running just the crank pulley. The belt will be six ribs as apposed to the stock 7 ribs, but that's fine. Just be sure to keep it all the way to the inside or outside of all the pullies when you install it.
Disconnect the negative battery cabe and remove the stock belt by using a wrench/ratchet on the tensioner (the small pulley under the alternator). Once you have the belt off you'll have a couple options depending on work space and what else you want to do.
I replaced the clutch fan the same time I did my pulley so I removed the shroud and fan. If you don't want to replace the fan then there should be just enough room underneath to get a ratchet on the crank pulley bolts. On my '99 there's wasn't enough room to see, but I could've done it by feel.
When you install the new pulley you'll want to use some red Lock-tite on the bolts. I forget what the torque specs are on the bolts (does anyone remember?).
Reinstall the new serpentine belt following the routing diagram on the radiator support and reconnect the negative battery cable. You should be all set to go.
