Message: When I bought my Nu Image gauge face, it came with a little plastic tool which was shaped like a U which would help slip them off. All you have to do is pull them away from the gauge face, they'll slip off the needle. It would probably come off better if you gently used a pair of pliers or pry them off from below.

A dessert fork will work well also. You'll want to pull the needles straight up so you don't warp/bend the pins.
When you put the needles back on make sure that you don't press them on all the way. If you do they'll rub the gauges and won't be accurate. And if you don't press the needles on far enough they'll "droop" (go past their normal stop point) when the ignition is off

Message: well, I decided to take my dash apart again and try to remove the gauge needles, go them off what a nerve racking experience, I felt as if I was going to break something but they did come off, now my problem is this, does anyone know how to set the needles back on in the proper location or a way to reset the servos inside I found out the hard way that the needles have to be put back on exactly in the same way as they were taken off or the readings will be incorrect, thanks for any help

Message: Well, I let my truck warm-up, then I drew a bunch of gauges and mark them oil, etc., then drew the needle placement on them. Plus I got a full tank of gas. Then once I put my new gauges on, I started the truck and placed the needles back where they were on the drawing. For the tach and the speedometer, I just put the needles on the stoppers before I started the truck. Make sure your truck is warmed-up also when you put the needles back on. I had one of my friends follow me to make sure the speed was the same. Start your truck a couple of times to make sure that the needles move properly, then put the rest of your dash back on. Good Luck!!
