Subject: Question for you guys running Mopar mud flaps IP: Logged
Message: I just bought a set of mopar mud flaps for my quad cab. They're supposed to be fitted for my truck with the factory fender flares. Last nite I held them up in place and noticed that the mud flap doesn't follow the contour of the flare. I was under the impression it's supposed to be a perfect fit? Did they give me the wrong parts? or is that what the rest of you guys running them have seen too?
Thanks for the help!

Message: I believe they are supposed to be a tight fit. I have the deezee flaps..and they fit perfect. There are different parts numbers on the trucks with flares...could be they gave you the ones for no flares...

Message: I have the molded dodge mud flaps for my 2000 cc. They mold right to the fender flares. Are you sure you got the right ones?

Message: When I initially checked into getting the molded flaps for my 01 flared sport, I was told by the dealer that the same pairs were used for the front and rear....WRONG. There are two different part #'s for front and rear. Maybe they gave you two sets of the same. On each flap it should say where it goes.....molded in on the mounting surface.

Message: When I went in to get my flaps....
They had front and rear. I had rear already installed when I bought the truck. So I went to get the molded for the front. The only differnce I saw or could tell was the fronts were 3 inches instead of 5. I think that was the lenghts. Not sure but the front is shorter than the rear. Only differnce I saw.

Message: I have a 98 Dakota I bought both front and rear mopar mud flaps. I was told by 5 different dealors that they are the the same for front and rear. I did notice that the rear does not exactly follow the body... Its about 1 inch off. Perhaps people are right and there are a different set, but I did look at the description in the dealors computer and it said front/rear on mine. Go figure....

Message: I'll doublecheck the boxes when I get home. One box had been opened already .... and I don't know if what's IN the box is what's SUPPOSED to be in the box. But thanks for the feedback guys. As long as I know it's supposed to be a good tight fit I'll know more of what I'm looking at.
thanksss

Message: That could be true that the only difference is the lengh...I never checked, I just made sure I got the front and rear sets. They do install and fit tight to the moldings.

Message: They sold me a misprinted part. The part number on the box said it was for Dakota rear with flares, but when they ran the part number through the 'puter it came back as Dakota rear without flares. They ordered me up the right part, so I should be all set come Monday.
Thanks for the info!

Message: what is the part no. for the rear flaps with flares? I ordered mine and they sent me two sets of front with flars. I would think, If it says on the box FRONT W/FLARS, that they would make a REAR W/FLARES. My dealer cant seem to find a part no. Any help would be great, I'd love to walk in there monday, hand them a part no. they could'nt find and say, I TOLD YOU SO! Man, that would be fun.I have a 2000 4x4 club-cab SLT. Thanks for any healp you can give me on this.

Message: I bought the ones that are good for front or rear with the fender flares. With a little trimming they fit just fine with no tire rubbing, and they look great with the Ram head on each one. Maybe I'm just cheap but for me it was a no-brainer...$76 for the molded set or $26 for the sorta flat set, both of which serve the same function.
