Message: I'd get something with a higher weight rating. To figure out what weight rating you need, do the following:
Multiply your GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating...can be found on a door jamb) by about 55%, then divide that number by 2. That's roughly the max load each rear tire will carry under your fully loaded truck.
Here's my logic in the above formula: Unloaded, your truck puts about 60% of its weight on the front tires, 40% on the rear. Under full load, your rear tires will probably have to bear about 55% of the weight due to weight being added to the bed of the truck, and the front percentage will drop to about 45% (even thtough the total number of pounds will increase). Dividing by two gives you the number of pounds each rear tire would have to carry, assuming full load and the load balanced equally side to side. Understand that I'm taking an educated guess at the front/rear weight bias, so the 60%/40% unloaded and 45%/55% fully loaded numbers are not set in stone...it's just my best guess.
Applied to my truck: 55% of 5620 (my GVWR) = 3091 pounds. 3091 divided by 2 = 1545.5 pounds on each rear tire.
That should put you in the ballpark of what you need. And if you never load your truck and can't find a scale to weigh it, just subtract your payload rating (probably around 1200 pounds) from your GVWR, add 500 pounds (for gas and people), multiply by 60% (front unloaded weight bias), then divide by two.
