Message: Does anyone know if the sway bars that came
with the handling package on a 2000 Sport
model are different than the ones that come
on a RT? If so, what is the difference, a thicker
dia. bar? Are there any companies that make
polyurethane bushings for the Sport sway
bars and does this make any difference.
Thanks

Message: I am not sure about the front sway bar, but the rear on an R/T is a bigger diameter than a Sport.

Message: 2wd RC's don't come with a rear sway bar unless they are an R/T.

Message: I am pretty sure that the sway bars are the same in the front. I bought a complete set of sway bars from bernd of a newer model R/T and the sticker was still on the bar. It was the exact same model as the one I have on my 2002 RC SLT 3.9 with the tire and handling package.
FWIW, I had a Quickor 1.25" sway bar installed on the front. It is the largest pure performance install difference wise yet. The stock sway bars are tubular, the Quickor is solid. It weighs 25 lbs. The side to side stiffness has really improved. BTW, this particular sway bar required that the bump stop be shaved to avoid hitting the end link joint on the sway bar. Cost $60 at the local suspension shop, although if you are careful, have access to a small portable grinding wheel you can do it yourself. I have two front sway bars for sale if anyone needs them. $75.00 each + shipping (ship cheapest way)
Regards,
Steven

Message: What kind of swaybars are they? Are they the aftermarket solid one's like you put on your truck? If so I might just do that.

Message: I have a 00 QC, 5.9 V8, and more. I have been tormented by the 1960 Ford pickup squeke sounds coming from my Dacota. I think i have found a fix for about $150. A new sway bar kit for front and back with Poly bushings. have had it for 3 month, been off road numerious times, and no noise...Yippie!!
