Subject: Help... low idle problem IP: Logged
Message: OK, heres the problem. My truck, a 1990 3.9L 2wd auto, runs great at normal driving speeds. Purs like a kitten. And with my 3.9L, a very small kitten. But as soon as I come up to a stop sign or have to slow way down, at 1000 rpm and less, my truck wants to die. It NEVER shuts off, but it sputters like its gonna. As soon as I give it gas and raise RPMs, it runs like that small kitten again. Does this all the time too, not just at warm up temps. Thanks for the help and advice and what to look into.

Message: Not to familiar with the older daks like the one you have but on my dak it did the same thing wanted to stall all the time when comming to a stop or just idiling.. My problem was i needed to clean the TB.. after doing so it runs like it should.. maybe you should look into cleaning yours.. i beleive its a carb.. correct me if im wrong.. but cleaning your carb/tb may do the trick.
my 2 cents.

Message: Thanks guys. I will look into having my TB cleaned. Or maybe do it myself. That seems logical. Cuz when I am forcing gas into it, it runs great, but when gas is light, it runs rough. Or maybe injectors.
I will also look up that fuse. I have done the same as you Geoff, with tail light problems before. Went through all this trouble and foud it was a damn 20 AMP fuse. Thanks for the help.
