Subject: Fog Light Problem IP: Logged
Message: I need to know if anyone has ever tried to install a Heavy Duty flasher in their Dak and if so, have they had a problem with their fog lights in conjunction? For starters there does not appear to be a HD flasher that will work in this truck. I blew several fuses trying what I thought to be the correct part from NAPA. Finally I gave up. After all of the frustration I went to use my fog lights and they would not work. I have replaced the bulbs, double-checked the fuse and switched relays. I have also checked for continuity at the fuse box which it has. Otherwise I suspect the switch or a fried wire? Any suggestions appreciated,
Thanks,
Trip

Message: In my 97 I don't really think I need a heavy duty flasher. You should only need one if you tow something with lights. I have 3 extra relays that I plug into the underhood relay box to help out with the extra current draw. If I I'm not towing, I remove them just to keep from hearing it click and to keep the wiring harness from being hot. Not that big of a deal, just how I am.
