i went to buy my "just right autolites" today and three places i looked at the specs for the autolite plugs, they all said i needed #5224 as they are o.e.m. replacements...whereas ive heard everyone saying they used the 3923. which one do i want for my 98 4x4 5.2l v8 dak?

also which is better the regular orange packaged autolites? or the platinum autolites?

help me harlow and dak dudes...you are my only hope!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are correct that the 5224 is the OEM spec, but the 3923 fits as well and seems to be a better performing plug. You want the standard orange box, copper core plug,

yes trip ir correct but i had the 3923 in for 2 weeks and it seemed to run just as good as the stock plugs but my gas went from 19-21 to 17-19 so i switch back today and im going to check milege again

Your choice is indeed a wise one. You'll notice the improvement right away when you first fire up your rig.

That helps. So the 3932's make a little more power but make your mileage go down? So what do the 5224's do that I bought? Stop confusing me! Also I am guessing that replacing stock plugs after only 10,000 miles is not going to make a change. At least they are only $8.

Did you have the 5224s in before you switched to the 3923s? Or did you have the OEM specified Champions?

I like the configuration of the 5224s because they have a longer extention into the cylinder than the 3923s.

However, I am running the 3923s because of all the recommendations.

took a trip across the border (to the usa from canada) today and bought me my autolites. not bad for 1.94 a pair at walmart. i thought napa in canada carried them, but i went to 2 different uap/napa and they said they didnt carry them. it was a wothwhile trip too, got my msd wires for 64 bucks (us funds as opposed to 80 online, or 225 canadian)

im putting them in tomorrow, i'll let youy know what i think about them
