Walmart sells autolites simply because there the cheapest plug money can buy and you all know walmart sells cheap stuff. I'd like someone to explain exactly what's wrong with Champion plugs. dodge does a lot of testing before using anything on there trucks. Obviously cheap autolites DO NOT do the job better or even as good or you would see them in every Mopar product with a great savings to MOPAR. So many complain about spark knock but how many actually research the problem. I can answer that easy. ZERO. Our truck need something ONLY Champion can deliver. Lots of resistance. Champion has 75,000 OHMS resistance and if you really want to do it right use there TRUCK PLUGS. They have 85,000 resistance. This is by far the highest of all plugs. It stops the plug from firing till A real good supply of spark has built up. then and only then arc over accures and you get the hotest spart delivered at a slightly retarded time allowing less misfires and greatly helping cavatation. You say you put Autolites in and your truck run way better. You could have installed any new plug using your old plugs as a comparison and it would have run better. If your going to make a statement do it comparing new plugs against new plugs.Only then can you actually make an honest evaluation. We all know this isn't going to happen. We will keep lying to ourselfs cause it makes us think we really now something and worse yet pass it on to the other guys . And it builds till it just has to be true. Enough said. Enjoy your autolites. I love my champion truck plugs and so does my Dakota.

Don't believe I said they was CRAP. I said they was cheap as in MONEY CHEAP. I also said to enjoy your autolites. My reasons for using what I use are valid. Also said nobody would believe it and I don't care. I did my research over many years. I assume you did yours and you have solid valid explainable reasons you use what you use. Walmart HERE USED TO SELL champion. Now all they have is a poor choice of autolites. Before you jump on me for that it means they carry only the high fast selling numbers and nothing else. There spark plug display covers an area all of 4 ft by 4 ft. Impressive huh. By the way. I explained why I use champion truck plugs with pride and none of it is fiction. I'd like to hear someone some day tell me the factual advantages with other plug brands. I'm not saying there bad . I'm saying I honestly believe champion plugs are tops.

We used to use autolites all the time where i work.(gas well tending company) However we switch to champion and Ngk because they seem to hold up better under the rough condition the well tenders put them through. Plus we use a lot of jeeps for the office people like surveyers and the geoligists and they come with ngk in them now anyway. But they work well in the 2500 dodge and chevys we use to. We mainly use the champion in the 1/2 ton because they are usually thrashed pretty good on the service roads. The only thing we still use autolites in is our old 50's model for backhoe tractor.

Good honest post JUST SAYING. Your reasoning is right on and this is exactly why 95% of all the gas engine powered equipment you can find new for sale has champion plugs. This includes all home owner yard equipment as well. All these companies are not stupid. They do there homework and use products that make there equipment shine. I just can not figure why nobody sees this and say to themselfs. Wow, there not the cheapest plugs so got to be a performance reason here. Not intended to cut anybody down.

After thought. If not for champion plugs, NGK would be my plug of choice. They run a close second.

Nevertheless, I took Harlow's advice and installed a set of Autolite ignition engineered sparkplugs, the official sparkplug of NASCAR.
I have no regrets. My idling is much better with Autolite.

I talked to Harlow last night and he swears by Autolites, says he uses them in all his automobiles. That alone was enough to convince me. I removed the Champions, installed Autolites, and my Dak has never run better.
I say if Harlow walks the walk and uses the product he endorses, then he's honest enough for me.
