Message: Ok, I broke a bolt in my stealth while changing out the thermostate... the worst feeling in the world is breaking a bolt on an engine.
here's what you do:
There is a tool that you can get at homedepot that drills out the existing bolt and it comes with these thread like things that you install a new bolt into.
It comes with 3-4 new threadings, a drill bit to thread the old hole with the new threading for the threaders, and a tool to install the new threads.
I can post a pic of what it looks like when i get home tonight if it would help... good luck.

Message: The broken bolt is now not under any stress because the nut or head has broken off. If the leftover bolt is not to rusted in and you can get to it easy enough you can drill a small hole and use an "easy out". Sometimes you can take a punch and get it turning and work it out. You may also dremmel a groove in it and turn it out. Remember it's not "tight" now that the nut or head is broken off and if it's not rusted or corroded in, or bottomed out, it may come out pretty easy. If you can get to it easy.

Message: Handi nailed that one. Get a set of easy-outs. Any reputable store with a good tools department will know what you are talking about.
If worse comes to worse, you can always take it to a shop & get them to extract the bolt for you.

Message: Before you try to remove the stud with an easy-out or similar tool, first soak the stud liberally and overnight with SiliKroil, the best darned penetrating oil ever made. www.kanolabs.com.
Stuff will loosen almost anything, even rusted bicycle spokes....
Best,
