How old? What engine?

After reading your first post, a couple of things that popped into my mind was ignition, fuel filter, and catalytic converter.

You say that you changed the plugs & wires, but did you pop the distributor cap off to check the contacts on the inside of it & the rotor?

After your second post, I don't suspect the fuel filter is the culprit. They generally cause worse issues the harder you try and push the vehicle.

The cat could still be an issue. Some of the Durango members have had similar complaints & found out that pieces of the cats' guts were randomly rolling around, and sporadically blocking off the exit hole. No report of the rotten-egg smell that some get from a bad cat.

Just two cents from your neighborly shadetree mechanic...

Yes, sir.

If memory serves me correctly, about this time last year someone on the DOC board (Durango Owners Club) complained of similar problems...I just don't recollect if it caused the really low idle RPMs. I do know that said person had complained about an erratic idle at times. I was one of the nay-sayers that said that it sounded more like an fuel or ignition problem. At any rate, they had their cat replaced, and all was good.

Try taking a rubber mallet or something equivalent and tapping the cat a couple of times. It isn't entirely too uncommon for there to be a little debris in the cat, but if you can hear all kinds of stuff rattling around, I'd say you've found your problem.

The other option is to wait for your check engine light, pull over really quick & see if you can get the code that tripped that light.

Good luck!

Well I finally got a code off my truck I got 12 and 27 (27 says Injector #1(or any other) output driver does not respond properly to the control signal.

I changed to FMS injectors 2 months ago and had no problem till now
After I got the codes I turned the truck back on and the rough idle was gone but it still idles around 400 RPM I went on about 5 different short trips through the city and had no problem all the power was there and could chirp/ spin wheels without a problem
