Subject: Inlet and Outlet IP: Logged
Message: I just wanna know the inlet and outlet I should go with on a single inlet dual outlet muffler.
I hate to ask this but, has it yet to be determined which exhaust is the best. I'm not going to drop a million bucks into a catback I live in MI and I can easily get away without a third cat (that's if there's not another 02 sensor back there) so I plan on removing the third cat, in it's place, a pipe to the new muffler than, from the muffler out to duals.
2002 4.7L 99% stock, I did the home-brew intake.
the intake is louder than the exhaust, I have to fix that lol.
thanks for answering yet another agonizing exhaust question.

Message: Duner went with a single in/out 3" free-flow cat and single in/out 3" 70 series flowmaster. That setup worked like a champ for him. The 70 series is the quietest. Thats what i'm gonna get.

Message: I'll have to keep that in mind, but I really don't have the cash for a catback system. In fact I plan on totally removing the third cat and plan on putting a dual outlet on it. I know it's not the best thing to do for your low end. but I really like the loud rumble, and the look of duals

Message: The exhaust I mentioned can be done at an exhaust shop. Just order everything online and bring it in. All the shop handles is the 3" tubing and installation. This is on a 2000 though.

Message: The 40 series, 50 series or 50 series suv are suppoused to be among the loudest. If loudness is what you want though go with a 40. The 70 seires isn't silent but will give you a rumble. The 70 combined with the free-flow cat(s) is supposed to be the best combo as far as performance goes.
