Message: Does anybody know what the best way is to get that look? I mean the brushed look into a peice of aluminum pipe?
I want to make up a couple of bars to replace the ones in my grille gaurd and am not sure if using different grits of sandpaper to get that look is the best way to go or not.
As well, should I put some kind of a protective coat of lacquer of something on afterwards. Or just leave it the way it is after I get the brushed look?

Message: Steel wool works good for the brushed look. Vary from fine to coarse for the look you want.
A clear coat will protect the finish.

Message: You might need to use stainless steel wool. Regular steel wool might leave metal on your aluminium rails and result in rust spots.
