 Subject: Front bumper valance replacement

After an encounter with a non-moving vehicle today with my front bumper, I'm currently in the market for a replacement front bumper valance. I usually see these all over the place on ebay, but currently, they only have one listed from a shop called www.partmartone.com. I find the price (listed at the website at $59) to be a little too cheap and was wondering if anybody has purchased any replacement aftermarket body parts from these guys, or if anyone knows of any other place to find valances. I'm looking for a smooth, unpainted or white Sport valance.
I was also considering replacing with an R/T valance, but I don't know if it would fit exactly the same (as far as on the wheel wells and undercarriage). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

All I can say is don't go to the dealership! They will charge you real close to 500 dollars! I ran over a dog at 75mph! It was a big dog. Bent my inner tie rod as well. Had to replace the entire rack and pinion. Insurance paid 800 and I paid the 500 deductible.

The dealer price wont be 500$ come on. I paint cars for a living so I can check on that Mon. I just replaced mine with a steel chromed one that I bought from Godfathers Customs.Stock one is the plastic gray one with fog lights,I wanted the whole front end to be chrome and am very happy with it.Cost was 265$ to my door. Paintable ones are much cheaper.Again I`ll check on the OEM one next week.

Preston Dodge in Dallas. I can't remember for sure but I think the valance was priced at 375. If I can find the estimate I will post it. It was a lot though. Rack and pinion was 595 I think and then couple hundred for labor and then the valance and labor so yeah it was between 4 and five hundred dollars. I (or the insurance company) more than likely got ripped I am sure. I wouldn't lie about it though.

Sorry , I didn`t mean to imply you lied about it , just misinformed maybe. If you went through an insurance co. it wouldn`t matter what the total cost was , because you have to pay your deductable anyway. Might as well let the ins. co. pay for quality OEM parts , as most aftermarket parts (body parts incl. bumpers and such) are junk. Even my new valance is marginal in quality , but Dodge doesn`t make a chrome one , so I was forced to go aftermarket.Most people have no idea , and if your customizing your veh. sometimes they don`t care as they are just going to make things fit.

You would be surprised at the diff. in price on somethings...OEM-vs-Aftermarket. Some things are 2-3 times as much $ , and some are only a few $s.
I would check a few places then check with the dealer before you buy. I prefer OEM anyday , if available.
Just my 2cents.

I have a stock front facia/bumper for a 97 and up dakota. It's satin black ready to paint if anyone wants a good deal on one bought from the dealership. I'm seling it because I ordered it under the assumption that it also had the replacment for the black peice under the grill and above the facia, but I was wrong. Now the dealership won't take it back because I don't have a receipt. If anyone is interested please contact langip@sympatico.ca for more details.

im interested ill give u $ sixty dollars for it i need one i hit a car while off roading and put a big scratch in it. also u might want to check ebay out they have the black part ur lookin for like sixty bucks
