Message: Anyone had front end problems? Here is what happend to me today. I have a 99 CC 4x4 5.2 auto, while driving down the road, the truck starts shaking, not really thinking anything of it, I kept going. Down the road a little ways, I go to touch the brakes and I don't have any, then they work. Get down the road about a half mile or so and the truck is making an awful squealing noise, I stop get out and look and notice that the right front wheel is toed in. I start driving to my buddies shop when boom, there goes the right front tire. I make it around the corner and pull over. I go to change the tire and it's hot as hell and smoking. upper ball joint broke. Inside of the rim is all tore up from rubbing on the upper ball joint. I put the spare on it not thinking anything cause I could of thrown a rock to my friends shop. Get in and the truck wont move. call a tow truck to take me like 200 yards, have the guys pull the truck in and look it over. We find, 1 broken spindel yes broken, need to replace upper and lower ball joints, hub bearing, outter tie rod end and a few other things. We deceide to look at the other side and notice that the hub bearings are starting to go there too, also upper and lower ball joints. truck only has 82k on it and most of it is Highway. JUNK I tell you JUNK.

Message: I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 truck, with the 5.2L V8 engine. It has no front end to speak of, been through several lower control arms. They last maybe 6 months, and then the front wheels begin to spread (top in, bottom out) both sides, and the truck shakes on the highway. Is there a permanent fix to this problem? I would appreciate any advice. The trucks in Jamaica where the roads are pretty bad. Rancho lift kit fitted a few years ago.

Message: After a new rack and pinion, new ty rods 700.00, new axle again new ty rods 1570.00 we had to have the motor that engages the 4 wheel drive replaced (400.00 + have not got full bill yet)there is still a bad rumbling at about 35 to 40 mph. Now we are being told that it needs a tune up with new coils packs as that is what Dodge has told them the problem might be WTH is anyone else having such issues with 2005 Dakotas?? Tune Up is 315.00 where does it get better?
