Message: I may just be an idiot... or its been a long day, but what does the air tube on aftermarket catalytic converters do? I dont know if I have a air tube on my factory cat. I assume that the air tube will be mounted toward the body of the pickup? Does it connect to something or am I just a dumbass? Feel to free to flame me for my stupidity.

Message: On some vehicles there is a smog or air pump which provides fresh air to the converters to assist with burning of exhaust combustibles. Those use 3 way cats. My Mustang has 3 way. 2 way cats do not have provisions for air connections. Why there are two typess, I have no idea. You have 2 way on the Dakota.
