 Subject: Leak Detection Pump Ticking

My Leak Detection Pump ticks, just like I said; *tick* *tick *tick*. I can hear it from outside of the vehicle from 15 feet away even. If I put my hand on it, I can really feel it. It does this mostly at idle, but I probably just dont notice it at higher RPM.
Can someone explain to me what is happening with it and/or why it is doing this? I am going to have the crappy local dealer check it out, but I wanted some of your opinions too, thanks!

mine keeps cracking all the rubber hoses it's connected to. where does the biggest diameter hose go from teh pump? it runs undernieth the battery and dissapears between two peices of metal.

Where is the leak detection pump? I'm getting an intermittent ticking sound like a bearing is going out. It only happens once in a while on cold startups. Maybe it's the water pump.

its right behind the battery below it. just follow the hose that goes from your throttle body to the driver's side of the truck. i dont know about where it is on the 4.7

what does the leak detection pump do. what does it support? Trans, engine, power steering?
