Message: This is copied from the 4/26/02 news section of ALLPAR. "To review, the list of future Chrysler vehicles is currently:
Neon replacement - based on Mitsubishi Lancer, possibly to be built at their Diamond-Star plant (leading to closure of Belvedere)
Stratus/Sebring replacement - based on Mitsu. Galant
LX (Intrepid, 300M, Concorde replacement) - uses Mercedes transmission, electronics, axle, and suspension components
Jeep Grand Cherokee - shared platform with Mercedes ML
Jeep Liberty - new
PT Cruiser - new but unlikely to remain on its own platform past 2006
Crossfire - restyled Mercedes
Ram
Dakota/Durango - rumored to be on the block in favor of a Mitsubishi small pickup
Pacifica - mostly done before Mercedes took control
Thus, closing the Pillette Road plant is entirely "in character" for DCX - especially considering that two plants have already been sold, with more on the block." NOTE THE REFERENCE TO DAKOTA AND MITSUBISHI. THIS IS NOT A POSITIVE RUMOR.

Message:
Neon is being moved from the Chrysler Platform to the Dodge platform and will be rebranded as the "SX", no more "Neon".
Old news: Sebring is already based on Mitsu parts and design.
PT Cruiser will continue to evolve, first with the PT Turbo and then the Convertible ... more permutations to come!
M80 *might* be a replacement for Dakota, although from what I have heard it is not geared towards that market. Dakota will continue despite what rumors may be saying, I also firmly believe that the R/T will get a 5.7ci HEMI as well.
Pacifica and Crossfire are definitely sharing Mercedes technology, why wouldn't they take advantage of it? As for Mitsu, DCX has a pretty decent stake in Mitsu and they have some solid products (maybe a little overlap).
The Dodge you all know and love will be around for a long time to come!!!

Message: Maybe Dodoge will be around but the Dak, with it's current configuration, will be gone and looks to become a Ranger/S-10 clone made by Mitsubishi. I'm sorry but that is not much to look forward to in my book. I guess it is back to a full size PU the next round.

Message: I think DODGE or DCX has something up its sleeve and i dont believe they are gonna get rid of one of the best sellers they might rename it. Whatever they bring up its gonna be bigger a than the DAKOTAS we drive now.

Message: they can go ahead and make a gay little mistu s-10/ranger clone as long as the keep a truck sized somewhere between that and a full size, they have the only part of the market as of current for a mid sized pickup, s-10 and rangers are minipickups, well at least in my book
