Message: For these types of things, you REALLY need to get a factory/service manual. It's around 70-80 dollars. It will be well worth it's weight in gold to you. I have a 2002 and the manual for the 2002, so I know you can get one.
BTW, why are you taking them off?

Message: I believe there are 5 screws in total that must be removed. This includes the one behind the door release, two on the bottom, one on the mirror sail, and one behind the armrest thingy. After those screws are out just lift up. Real easy, no clips, just lift straight up. I thought it was going to be harder, but it's a piece of cake.

Message: There are adapters out there that allow a four screw speaker to fit in a three screw location. When I put my new speakers in my 2002 QC, I used them. The adapters also give you increased mounting depth. You can find them at most car stereo places or try www.crutchfield.com.

Message: Get a sheet of 3/4 MDF, trace your old speaker on it and make a mounting ring for your new speaker. The wood will mount up to your existing screw holes, and the new speaker will mount inside of that wood ring. You don't really want to drill new holes and have a leaky mount.
Go to the audio section if you need more details.

Message: Exocet,
What speakers did you use in your 02 QC. I have the factory optional (best) system and the stereo is excellent. Can it be made better..?

Message: handi2,
I installed a set of Polk EX602A (6.5"/2 way) speakers. The factory speakers (non-Infinity) have very poor high frequency response due to their dual cone design. Low and mid-range frequencies are pretty good though. I will probably add a set of surface mount tweeters to the front door pillars someday to get better high frequency imaging.
