Subject: R/T Wheels on GenII IP: Logged
Message: I'm in the process of buying R/T wheels and I'm wondering if I need to do anything special to put them on? Do they bolt up just like factory? or do I need adapters? Please advise! Thanks, Drew

Message: Drew,
They will bolt up just fine... I've got 17's(Enkei's, not R/T's) on my dakota...

Message: Just a heads up on this mod, someone posted earlier that the upper control arms will have to be clearanced with a grinder to allow proper turning radius.I am planning this when I purchase tires. You will need the factory wide shoulder lug nuts if you have the steel rims. Gen II nuts do not have enough surface area and could damage your new wheels.

Message: I do know that the factory size tires are a little too tall, too...
255/50Zr17 BFG G-Force KDWS fit fine on my 96...no problems whatsoever...
Go with the lug nuts that the rim manufacturer recommends...
Drew - Thanks! I'll get you that info as soon as I can!

Message: I also have the R/T wheels the only problem i ran into is the dust cover on the Gen II sticks out too far all i did was grind about a 1/8" off the spindle and pound down the dust cover as i rotated the wheel to give it clearance besides that they bolted up perfectly with no problems and i didnt have to grind on the upper control arm as mentioned in previous posts.
