My 98 5.2 has about 52,000 miles on her. Lately I have been smelling strong gas fumes at idle when I first start it up and after warm up. I thought 1st it was my IAT so I turned it off and still the same problem. I have been noticing a slight hesitation off the line until it hits 3200RPM under 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. I am thinking my o2 sensor is going bad. Do hedders burn up o2 quicker due to the heat. I have Quick D throttlebody, Hedders, K&N Gen II, 1.7 roller rockers, MSD ignition, Flowmaster cat back system, TPS at .77 and IAT. I just put a new cap, rotor and plugs in 3 weeks ago. Any idea what would cause this.

have you checked the o-rings on your injectors? they could be ripped and leaking fuel.
it is recomended to change you o2 sensor at about 60k, so you might as well do it. the important one is the one before the cat. its $65 at autozone
