 Subject: overspray removal

Hello all, Washed my 01 today and when I was drying it off I noticed the paint felt rough so I waxed it, still rough than I noticed little white specs all over the hood I can feel them with my hand looks like overspray but have no idea from what or from where, ? is what can I use to get this off? Hate using compound any easy ideas, may have to take it to a detail shop who knows.
