Well, yesterday (april 19th) i was stopped at a stoplight. As the light turned green, the guy in front of me didn't move, so i gave him a tapp of the horn. As soon as that, BANG, some stupid blonde in a yellow xterra smacked me good!!
She didn't even have her licence on her!!! Anyways, i got a quote, $2414.00cdn!!! New bumper, bumper mounts, tailgate.

It's a sad day :-(

How bad was the Xterra messed up? :0)

Glad your ok! Sounds like a near-exact copy of the damage my truck got when a fullsize Chevy rammed me. Make sure they check between the bed and cab, when I was hit the bed shifted on the mounts and slammed into the cab, they had to repaint it and bang out some small dents. Mine was about $2900 US.

All in all though, I was impressed on how well the truck handled it.

Ive got a fiberglass roll pan that I will sell for cheap. Its black right now, but if your truck is going to be in the shop, its nothing for them to paint it.

I got rear ended 6 months after I got my truck by a volvo. Scratched my bumper, and put the trailer hitch through his radiator. Totaled the car and just 600 in damage to the truck.

Marc, I also got rear-ended last October, by a 1981 Datsun (Nissan) 280Z.

The back of the cab was also "dinged" by the bed, and yes, it will require removal of the bad to repair it properly.

BTW, my truck was repaired good as new. The Z-car was totaled.

Check your frame, I noticed my frame buckled a smidge above the rear axle when some ****er hit my 5 month old dak on a rainy day in '98, no problems though.

Cerecke, if Marc's not interested in your roll
pan, I am. What brand is it and are there any
cracks? How much do you want for it? Thanks

I didn't get any buckling in the frame, I think it depends on how your hit. If your hit off center, it might buckle. Mine was a dead rear-end ram, he was lined up perfectly with my truck. Anyone look at the front bumper of an early 80s Chevy? See the bolt heads that hold the bumper on? Well, they were pretty much equadistant from the sides of my bumper. :0/

Got lucky I suppose. I really can't say how much damage was done to the Chevy though, he was already pretty wrinkly in the front section I think... if my truck crumpled his that bad, I feel twice as good about my Dak as I did before!

Jodie. there would be scratches and/or dents on the back panel of the cab, where the bed made, or is, making contact.

Same goes for the front of the bed.

Rick,
Its an East Coast Customs, Ive had it for about a year. There are no cracks on it whatsoever. I will sand it down and prime it for you before I ship it....I will be doing a lot of painting in the next few weeks (after I get out of school for the summer) and if you want black, I can paint it for you. I know that the roll pan was about 100 bucks new, make me an offer. I'm easy to work with. I also have the trailer hitch to go with it, I would like to sell both at the same time. cerecke@yahoo.com

Hey did you see her coming in the rear-view?

I got rear-ended on a bridge coming home from the fireworks on 4th of July about 6 years ago.
I saw it coming - may have saved us from the whiplash...

Couple of young girls in a Samurai - had to toss out their wine coolers before the cops showed up.

My bumper was the only MAJOR damage. My bed did lurch forward and ding the cab. Body guy said they are designed to do that to absorb some of the force.

Oh... the Samurai was loaded onto a flatbed as we drove away that night...
