Subject: brakes....again IP: Logged
Message: sorry about bringing this subject up again, but I'm an infrequent visitor to this board and searching yields too much info to read so I'm asking opinions again.
Problem: upon braking I'm getting a hopping senstation. No steering wheel shimmy or anything at all felt nor affecting steering. Just a major hopping until under about 20mph then it disappears. I'm a pretty fair mechanic and diagnostic type guy. I bled the brakes all the way around and that didn't stop it. After reading some posts, it seems warped rear drums are quite common and this was the conclussion I was reaching prior to searching.
Before I start attacking the prob with $$, I would like a difinitive answer from others who had same prob and fixed it. Are aftermarket drums the answer and where can I get them.
Truck: 01 dak cc, 4.7 bought 10/01 with 25k miles (used) had this prob since day1 and seems to be getting worse.
