Congrats on finally getting your new Dakota. You will love it. Mine came in yesterday, but can't get it until Tuesday,because of the 30day membership with the farm bureau-- $500 discount. It's killing me to wait that long. As a matter of fact, I went to visit it tonight & checked it out.

OK, Now I'm mad. I ordered a '01 Sport in Patriot Blue and they kicked it back because they don't offer it in that color. I know that the Durango Sport can come in Patriot Blue, but they said that the Dakota can't. I had to change my order to Intense. Oh well, the Intense blue is really growing on me.

see i was the same way i wanted the amber fire because no one had it and i liked it. well i thought i ordered the intense blue but ended up ordering the patriot blue. your dealer should of been able to get on the computer that goes straight to chrysler and it would of told you the colors that are offered. I dont know its weird it will come on one model but not the next. sorry the intense blue looks very nice too. patriot is hard to keep clean. you will enjoy it very much

Check out your info because they just started to offer the sport in PAT blue. Of all of the compliments I get on my truck, 80% of them are on the color.
Also, If you really like the color, why not get the slt instead of the sport?

My truck will be here this week. The color was not as impotant to me as not having chrome. I don't wanna offend anyone but I just really don't like chrome. Also, I had already been trying to decide between Pat Blue and Intense Blue. My final decision was Patriot Blue but when they said that it got kicked back because of the color, I was disappointed a little but I was OK with it. (only because I had already been considering it)

your the same way with me i hate chrome too. I wanted it to be the same color all the way around. the pat blue looks really good. i didnt really like it at first but now i love it. my problem is that i live on a dirt road and wanted a lighter color so all the dirt wouldnt show as much. but oh well i have washed it everyday since i got it. its all good if you love it you will do it

I for one like the chrome and the color keyed bumpers. Either way looks great to me.
dakchik, you are right about keeping this color clean, but doesnt it look great after a wash and wax?:)

Hey 01dakchic,
I got my truck yesterday. It took 4 weeks exactly to get it here to Texas. Everything is perfect and the color is great too. I really liked the Patriot Blue but I am really happy with the Intense Blue. I have gotten a lot of compliments. Plus, not to brag but, it rained this morning and after driving on a lot of dirt roads I noticed that it really doesn't show much dirt. It doesn't matter much though because I know it is dirty and it can't stay like that for long.
