Subject: Thundeform Sub Help!! IP: Logged
Message: Well I just got my unloaded Thunderform today and went to install my Illusion Audio ND10's(3 inch mounting depth)and they did not fit, the outer rim of the subwoofer is about a half inch too big on each side so the sub would not fit in hole. The crappy thing is I searched long and hard to find a shallow mount ten inch sub, but now I come to find out the diameter is too large:(
So please, what good SQ subwoofers WILL fit the Thunderform. I know that the IDQ10 was a good choice but it is no longer made, they only have the V.2 series which apparently does not fit.
Thanks

Message: you should have bought the loaded ones with two MTX 10's. If you tell them to load it so there is a 2 ohm impedence it sounds good and way cheaper than buying it seperate.

Message: Well with the thunderform you have to stick with entry level subs (or ones that have small magnet structures). So your pretty much limited to the $99-$150 subs.
Hard to answer that question unless you have actually tried to install a different sub other then the MTX 6000.

Message: I have had 2 AUDIOBAHN AWP310T, which are rated at 1000 watts rms each, installed in my 2000 dakota. They sound great in the MTX-Thunderform. The subs only require a 4.5" mouting depth so they fit perfect. There is a great balance between SQ and SPL. I only hear distortion when I am running them over 800 watts. Great subs in a great enclosure.

Message: I've never seen a thunderform in person, but would it be too difficult to just shave off a 1/4 inch all the way around?
