Subject: Black Daks with Billet Fuel Door? IP: Logged
Message: I scratched #@$%^&* out of my fuel door at a crowded gas station last month. Would any of you guys who have installed a billet fuel door have a black stock one they would like to sell?
Thanks!

Message: Lesley, I am considering getting the billet door and having it powdercoated. When I finally get around to it if you still need a door, I'll cut you a good deal.

Message: Powder coat is a highly durable alternative to paint. It adds color and is extremely resistant to scratches & chemicals (both automotive & otherwise). Lift kits, step bars, brush guards, and any number of other "exposed" automotive parts are typically powder coated.

Message: Powdercoating material is baked onto the item, giving it a harder finish than paint. It typically does help with heat absorption but it depends on what kind is used - ceramichrome is best as far as I know. I have a powdercoated K&N Intake and Valve Covers, and am going to have a lot more parts done before June.

Message: Lesley, I'd offer you mine but here in NJ there are no self-service gas stations. I've got a feeling I'd better hold on to my stock one just in case I have to deal with the unthinkable, LOL.
