I have a now three month old 02 CC with some serious paint problems. It started about three weeks ago, it looks like there was dirt on the panels when they painted the truck. I took it to a body shop and the guy said it looked like the panels were starting to rust under the paint, causing it to almost bubble up. So far I've noticed this on 7 of the body panels, which means pretty much repainting the whole truck.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem? My dealer has been great about it so far, but I dont really like the idea of having to repaint a 3 month old truck.

Anyone else have problems like this? Is this a problem that I can expect to have until I get rid of the truck?

what color?

some of the dodge colors are known for problems, the older whites and some of the newer blues have had problems, wheather it be flaking or rusting through, my brothers 94 white lebaron is losing the paint off the roof, some of the tops of the doors and thr trunk, i do beleive its the primer they sed when it flakes off liek that because the paint falls off and the primer stays, so i think the primer sint sticking to the paint, but thats just what i think, so your problem could be similar, if you do get it repainted get one of then fancy metalic/ sparkly jobs that look so damn nice in the sun.

Hi,I also have a 02 QC in silver. The paint also had dirt in the edges of the doors and hood.Dealer buffed wet sanded and buffed, there are still visible but aleast smooth wwhen you open the door.I also had runs in the paint on the drivers side back door. Now the real problems. The dealer repainted it but the paint didn't match(color seems darker and alot less metalic). So I had them repaint again but the colar still doesn't match and they got overspray on the window moldings. So Im gonna take it back and try again but I'm afraid there gonna keep messing more up.Thanks Brian

If you can get a new paint job on the whole truck...go for it...!
I have an 02 QC w/Patriot Blue and the paint is very thin and soft. Scratches by itself..!
Just make sure they remove all decals, door locks, tailgate lock, side markers, lights, grill, ect. to get a professional paint job. You will end up with allot better paint in the long run.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. Still makes me mad cause the truck is only three months old.

Its a black truck, which my body guy told me that its the easiest color to match cause, well black is black, no matter what you call it. He told me that if they dont repaint the whole truck they would at least repaint whole panels because black doesnt blend very well with stuff thats already there.

I've heard that Chrysler paint isnt very good and I know it scratches easy. (found that out the first time I washed it and used the wrong kind of rag do dry it off with) Thats gonna be the one good thing about getting it repainted, better quality paint!

This guy said it was gonna be kind of expensive because of all the labor going into taking everything off the panels so I know he's gonna do it right. And its warranty work so I could care less about how much its gonna cost :)

I just dont wanna give up my truck for a week to get this work done.

Oh well, thanx guys

-Mike
