Subject: Rattling from under the hood somewhere..
IP: Logged

Message:
I don't know whether it's coming from the engine, or something else under the hood...

When I step on the gas, I hear a rattling somewhere inside... when I let off, it goes away. When I step on it again, it makes the noise again. My brother suggested that it could be a loose rocker arm.

Anyone have any ideas?

When I first picked up my '01 QC, I noticed an annoying rattle from somewhere in the engine compartment... It wasnt too loud, but i could still hear it, and it ticked me off. I took it in for some work one day and asked about it. It turned out the AC accumulator wasn't secured to its bracket properly, and was causing the rattle. I doubt its the same thing thats rattling in yours, but it wouldnt hurt to check. Hope you get it figured out..

I had a similar problem with my 2k v6. I found my transmission dipstick was hitting the underside of the hood. I "leaned on it" a little, (bent the tube down...) and noise is gone. You can check yours and see if the dipstick is swapping paint with the hood...
