What happened to the sure drain discussion? I cant find it anymore....anyway a couple of people were saying the SD2 drain plug fit the 4.7l dakota....anyone caonfirm this yet?

I just installed the Fram Sure Drain on my 2000 Quad Cab, 4.7, 4x4. I used model SD-2. This would seem to be the correct part.

On the other post, we have found that the SD-1 will fit the 3.9. Read that post to see what I am talking about, I make no guarentees that it will work since the 2000-2002 aren't in the book.

Just installed Sure Drain on my Dak. It does use the
SD-1 ("00" DAK 3.9l)

Finally, a installation on a 3.9!!!! What do you think of it? I realize you probably haven't used the drain feature, but what do you think of the plug? I may go pick one up now that you have installed one and it worked for you. Thanks!

ok nipple dick do the f^cking search and see what you come up with...for me a search with fram sure drain comes up with numerous pages and Im not going to sift through 1000's posts looking for the right one....it should come up but it doesnt. thanks for the helpfull reply Bill....

Yes, the SD-2 does work on the 2001 QC 4.7 AWD. I have installed it and it's the best investment you can make especially if you have the skid plates. Now I don't have to remove the plates to drain the oil.
