Can the rear brakes and drums be replaced with larger ones? I currently have the small ones on my Dakota (6 inch??) and would like to go to the 11 inch ones. Has anyone done this before with good results? Thanks.

Depending on the year of your vehicle, you can replace the rears with disk brakes. I haven't heard of anyone replacing their drums with bigger ones.

I know if you go with disks in the rear, you will have to step up wheel diameter, and this will amost certainly be the case with larger drums.

I put rear disks (and cross drilled ventillated disks on the front) and the difference is night and day. OK, it's not a Dak, but we are all the same underneath :-)

You can see install pics and such at http://home.earthlink.net/~stevenbarlow/PageDurango.htm
