Message: Had a 98 Dakota RT before with a bedliner (came that way) & it was fine. Picking up my 2001 Dak CC 4x4 (Intense Blue) on Tues. & had an appointment to get it Rhino lined on Thurs. morning. If you can do it, it's seems the better way to go. Liners shift a little and water or
condensation can cause rust under the liner.

Message: TP,
I can't tell you where to get a bedliner but I had installed a Pendaliner SR for my 01 Quad cab. The Rhino spray on liner was a little to steep for me. I think that the rhino would be better in the long run though. Check to see if Duraliner makes one for the Quad. At the time I got mine, they didn't make an "under the rail" liner and I wanted an "under the rail" model. Good luck.

Message: Do yourself a favor. Don't use a drop-in. They'll scratch your bed, hold moisture, and cause incurable rust. I've seen so many people regret it. As a matter of fact if you head over to the DML there are several people willing to give theirs away just for the asking. The top brands for spray in are Rhino and Line-X. They are both equally durable. Rhino is a little thicker and softer. I have Line-X in mine and have thrown stuff heavier than me in the back with no problems whatsoever. ~$350 for under the rail. One of the best investments I've made.

Message: The only problem with the spray type liners is their rubbery texture. If you have somthing big and heavy to put in the truck it won't slide on the rubber. This can also work in a positive way though, since you wont have to worry about things sliding around.

Message: Where you at? Bring something over that's heavy and see if it won't slide. Unless you have spikes on it that dig into the material itself. Line-X is pretty hard. What keeps things from sliding is due to the fact that it's textured, not because it's soft.

Message: I hear people complaining about the drop-ins all of the time.....I disagree. I have had drop-in liners in previous trucks and have never had any problems.....the problem is poor maintenance. I take mine out every spring and wash/wax the bed and if there are any spots that need touched up, I take care of it (you don't even have to worry about the paint matching perfectly....just prime and paint any raw metal). People with the spray on liners have to touch them up on occasion due to wear/chips/flaking so they each have maintenance needs. It adds about an hour to my Spring prep session when I wax and clean it up nice after winter. As far as cleaning out dirt/grass...I'd rather have a drop-in. If your primary use is loading heavy/large unsecured items, I'd say the spray in would be better at keeping items in place.

Message: Why do want to take it out? It becomes a part of the bed. The people that put it in can take it out but then you have to re-paint the bed. When and if I ever sell my truck the Line-X goes with it.

Message: I had a drop in liner in my 00 and it did leave some rubbed areas. In my 01 I'm going to apply a bed coating first, then drop in the plastic liner. The beds on the Dak QC the metal is pretty thin and if you hall any block, or rock, its going to get dented with spray on type liner. The drop ins offer a lot of protection to the itegrity of the bed metal. So a simple prep with Rino liner or 3Ms paint on liner will solve the rub and rust issues. Gator

Message: spray ins are permanent and do absolutely nothing for impact resistance. something heavy falls in the box, GEE DENTED BOX DUHHHHHHH. drop ins do not hold moisture that is one reason they are ribbed(AIRFLOW). the best liner depends on what you are using your truck for. the bedrug is onr GREAT product, i have done just about everything to mine.

Message: Get the spray in liner. I've got a Rhino liner thats going strong after 6 years. If youre worried about denting up the bed, don't get a truck get a trailer. At least the liner will follow the bed if you happen to dent it ;)

Message: I have a drop-in. I don't like it because it moves around quite a bit which I am sure is taking the paint off. Also the previous owner had put in tie-down points (VERY useful) and was forced to cut holes in the liner to access them. You can't make the holes too big because water and crap would get in behind the liner and make the paint rubbing problem worse, but the present holes are too small and you can't easily get your rope or tie-down hook in to secure the load.
A spray-in I think would eliminate these problems (tie points just protrude through the coating and the liner never moves).
I'm not worried about dents in the tray, but I am concerned about the paint being rubbed off. Especially since they salt the roads in winter here.

Message: I've got an under the rail for my 2000 Sonoma. I've noticed that going down the highway at 70mph, the back end near the tailgate bows up about 6 inches. I'm afraid it's going to fly out. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any suggestions? Buying a new bedliner really isn't in the budget right now.
