 Subject: V8 swap on 89 Dakota

I have a 1989 Dakota Sport 4X4. It currently have the severly underpowered V6 and a 5 speed tranny. I would like to swap in a 318 or 360. What would be involved in doing such a swap. What tranny should I use. What about the transfer case. Can I use an older carburated engine to avoid electrical. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Somewhat on the subject. I want to take my 318, and replace it with the Ram's, 488 V-10 Which I'm guessing is going to be impossible. but If I find a way to do it, I will have a 318 from a 1997 for sale. :)
And my only reasoning for looking into this is, because that would be cool. And I have no life. And if it is possible and I can afford it. How cool would that be. I'm done drooling, back to the regulary schudled topic.

I'll be happy to pass any info I find on to you. I got one email that says that the motor mounts for the 3.9 are the same on the 318. He emailed my part number if you want them. I don't know if that is correct, but I am going to need more info than that to start the project.

Well, that would definately be cool. I have no idea what would be involved. But I saw in Mopar mag, a cuda that the guy put a v-10 into. So I guess anything is possible with enough money. Anyway good luck. Let me know whay you come up with.
