I have a 01 Dakota with the multispd auto. When i give the truck some light gas and let off at the "right time" when the tranny is about to shift into second, i get a loud thud from the tranny. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this? Damn automatics...if I wasnt so lazy;)

I have the same problem as you do with my 2000. Mine does it more from second to third. It does it between first and second also, but not as often. I believe there is a PCM update for this, but I didnt hear from anybody else if it actually cures it. Does anybody know???

My 2000 does the same thing. When shifting from second to third it feels like it momentarily jumps out of gear and then thuds when finds third. Only does it about once a month though. The local dealer says there is no code that they are aware of to fix this but most of the dealers in my area are idiots. Anybody else have any info ?
